This Gattinara is the less attractive but intriguing friend that Barolo and Barbaresco brought to your dinner party. Once you lean in to introduce yourself, sweet red cherry, violets and the leather of a hand bag from a mid-range designer (luxurious but also affordable!) dominate the conversation. Tannins are firm but smooth, you could totally see this one aging gracefully. — 7 years ago
