2014 Montanet-Thoden 'Galerne' Bourgogne Vezelay Chardonnay organically grown on clay and limestone, 30km south of Chablis heading towards Beaune. No oak, marked by high acidity, aromas of tart citrus fruit, lemon & lime, some cardamom spice, stoney texture and a medium long salty finish. Prefer it when served not too cold. Popular wine in Parisienne wine bars. Nice! Suited to the more advanced 'Eurocentric' palates. — 9 years ago
2012 Sandhi Sanford & Benedict Pinot Noir from one of the oldest plantings in the Santa Rita Hills (1971). Youthful, lovely fruit purity and freshness, highlighting the vineyards cool micro climate. This wine speaks the language of the vineyard. Old world wine style made in the New World. This will age gracefully, but already delicious! Only 600 x 6-Packs produced, partnership between Charles Banks (Ex-Screaming Eagle and Sommelier Rajat Parr, winemaker Sashi Moorman) available in Thailand through wine garage. — 9 years ago
A classic fruity 'feinherb' Riesling from the Mosel. Juicy lemons and limes, well rounded (11.5%) with crunchy acidity. Great with medium weight Thaifood. Luk Chin Ping with Thai style seafood sauce.

2013 Wittmann Riesling QbA trocken Rheinhessen Germany grown biodynamically. Reflective of its cool vintage conditions, similar to 2004 & 2008. A sense of sweetness on the attack but then the acidity kicks in on the mid- and back palate, some CO2 prickle. Green apple, grapefruit and lime. Lovely texture, feels complete, tart finish. Nice wine at this level and considering 2013 being a difficult year! — 9 years ago
2011 Domaine La Croix Belle Syrah Cotes De Thongue IGP - inexpensive straight Syrah from the Southern part of France. Punching above its weight. Clear varietal expression, aromas of violets, cassis, tart boysenberry combined with fresh acidity. Front-loaded style with a dry, tart finish. — 9 years ago
Chateau Pavie 2000, I expected this to be rather powerful and over extracted, a wine, which regularly divides drinkers. The quality of the fruit was extraordinary, bordering on New World in its concentration. Still in its primary stage, slightly subdued and needing more time to reveal its complexity. I thoroughly enjoyed this wine, delicious and well balanced, would happily drink it again. Merlot/Cab Franc/Petit Verdot. 13.5% abv, anticipated maturity 2012 - 2050 — 10 years ago
1994 Doennhoff 'Niederhaeuser Hermannshoehle' TBA Nahe Germany simply beautiful, a meditation wine par excellence! — 9 years ago
2008 Edi Simcic 'Triton Lex' from Goriska Brda in Slovenia. Equal blend of Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Ribolla Gialla grown on clay-limestone soil. Natural farming and winemaking, growing of weeds in the vineyard, no spraying, dry farming, hands off in the winery, no adjustments, no temperature control during fermentation and little addition of sulphites before bottling. Resulting in a wine with a golden-yellow colour (from Ribolla Gialla, couple of hours skin contact and age) hinting towards delicate aromas of yellow peach, toffee, butterscotch and nuts combined with a soft, caressing mouthfeel. Not overly complex, but a joy to drink any day of the week! — 9 years ago
2011 Dr. Buerklin-Wolf Riesling Pfalz QbA. From one of the largest (110 ha) privately owned wine estates in Germany. The estate Riesling, a blend of top sites in the Bereich Mittelhaardt-Deutsche Weinstrasse, from Deidesheim and Wachenheim. Tried various vintages of this wine and it never disappoints, pure mineral spice, tangy and textured. Delicious from the approachable 2011 vintage. — 9 years ago

Franz Hirtzberger Gruener Veltliner 'Honivogl' Smaragd 2008 enjoyed from a Magum bottle. Beautiful honeyed nose with notes of beeswax and sweet lemon, touch of sweetness on the attack. Lovely poise and concentration. — 8 years ago
