Intense overripe/jammy blackfruits, think black currant and blackberries. Black pepper, gamey, and a bit of baking spices also on the nose. This wine has seen some short period of time in new oak. On the palate, this wine is fruit forward with the ripe jammy blackfruit, with the pepper, game, and cinnamon/clove in the background. A generous lush mouthfeel with soft tannins and surprisingly light bodied and incredibly easy to drink. A pleasant young wine to be enjoyed whilst young. — 8 years ago

Stellar expression of Hermitage. The '09 warm vintage truly manifest itself in this wine with incredibly ripe black and blue fruits, black peppercorns and smoked meat. A powerful, complex, elegant wine with persistent tannins and wonderful acidity that keeps you reaching for more. Paired wonderfully with roasted lamb. Paul Ainé is a fantastic producer of wines in the region and this bottling from La Petite Chapelle does not disappoint. Could have easily been kept for another couple years but I thoroughly enjoyed drinking it today! — 8 years ago
Rich, creamy, buttery heavily oaked Chardonnay. As I would expect from Mersault, with lovely hints of honey, vanilla, and lavender. Paired gloriously with fresh scallops in a brown butter sauce. — 8 years ago
Delicious GSM blend. Easy to drink and versatile. Fruit forward and full bodied with well integrated tannins. — 8 years ago
One of my favourite producers in Margaux at an always competitive and affordable price. Despite a less than stellar vintage, '02 was by no means a terrible year. The wine still displayed great aromas of ripe black currant, black cherry jam, fig, violet, and ripe plum. Tannis are med + but soft. Acid Med. Alcohol Med+. Oak is definitely present but not overly present as in other vintages. All in all, a delicious full-bodied, balanced wine with elegant style that is characteristic of Margaux. — 8 years ago
