The second 88' I've opened and requires a few hours to dust off the very damp and earthy nose. Once that dissipates you're left with a gem the French should envy. Enjoy if you have any but give it time to open... — 8 years ago
Very good right now. Developed and well balanced. Lovely hint of spice on the finish. — 8 years ago
09 still developing. Love the mouth feel, velvet. — 3 years ago
Very balanced and pleasant. Opened up and nose was soft and very sweet. Great acidity and you can almost feel some cab franc on the back end glide across your palate. This is a very good wine and I'd expect a couple more years would have made it better. — 8 years ago
This was the best bottle of CM I've had to date. It's drinking perfectly with lots of life left but calm enough to enjoy smoothly over the palate. Great wine. — 8 years ago
Never disappointing, Bob's Merlot blew the three cab drinkers away at dinner. Big fruit, silky smooth on the pallet, wonderful wine that's drinking perfectly now. — 9 years ago
Given as a gift for a recent dinner party opened tonight with 0 expectations and was pleasantly surprised. I would bet this '09 is at its peak. Very nice wine for the $. This was a very easy drinking Tuscan. Very food friendly. Paired with the salad, chicken and cheeses nicely. For me this is a very good value wine with the appropriate age... — 7 years ago

Last bottle in the cellar of this vintage and almost regret opening on a burger night except, got to enjoy with a good friend. I'd give this a top ten wines I've ever had rating. Perhaps top 5. Drinking beautifully with subtle fruit and smooth silky feel. This wine was amazing...epic — 8 years ago

Took over an hr to open beyond the damp barnyard nose when the cork was removed. Developed beautifully over the following 2 hrs until the wine blossomed. Very few noticeable tannins and a lovely blend of provincial spices, lavender and hints of leather. A beautiful 30+ second finish. This is one of the first cdp’s I’ve truly enjoyed. I do believe the 99 is likely on its way down but not by any means gone. I’d drink sooner than later. — 3 years ago
