Visited this winery 2 weeks ago which stores it's barrels under the center of town in a cellar hundreds of years old in Estrucian cave. Brought this back after a tasting and it is still wonderful and deserving of its 94 WS rating. A bold punch yet smooth delivery packing dark fruits and tobacco. It's makes me want to bend over, take a paddle to my ass and say - thank you sir may I have another. — 9 years ago
My second french bottle of the weekend in support of Charlie. Each glass just gets better with this elegant Pinot. A very full and well rounded Pinot out of the Kardasian mold. Different fruits layered tightly together where none jump out but rather blend harmoniously with a bit of spice box Jerry lighting the fuse. That is how I can best describe this offering, an elegant harmony. Vive Charlie! — 10 years ago
Reading prior notes here I sniffed my dirty underwear for 5 minutes so the stench of the wine would not shock me. Well, popped the cork, and it smells like bubblegumWTF. Is my dirty underwear that bad...This is a great inexpensive wine, wonderful earth and mineral, fruit blended very smoothly. Even an elegance with all this earthiness. Shines — 8 years ago
Was just not a big fan of this, will save the tasting comments, maybe I just had a bad day. If he would only say "Islamic" terrorist, maybe i wouldn't have been in a pissy mood while drinking this bottle — 10 years ago
Just as advertized, lavendar, mineral and spice and so very pleasant and smooth. I enjoyed this bottle so much that I stopped checking my alchohol induced heart rate on my iphone app. Sure I am popping at over 100 bpm, but I am smiling all the way. Throw lavendar lillies on my grave and drink this baby now thru 2015. . Vive Charlie. — 10 years ago
I have the utmost respect for you Don Corleone, and would nwvwr be disrespectful to you, your family and your vineyards. — 10 years ago
Outstanding. If you want to visit a winery this place is wonderful. Was here a month ago traveling thru Tuscany. The winemakers had us try and guess the smell of this wine and we all got it - tomato - quite unusual and fantastic. I will be ordering more for shipment — 9 years ago
So there is a reason this was the last bottle on the shelf in an other wise crowded section of Australian in my ole pal Gary V's shop. This was a real nice bottle. On the nose it's very vibrant fresh like an evening in spring with the elderly neighbor still burning wood. The fruits are dark and tight, a hint of eucalyptus and definite real licorice, not twizzlers, possibly Smith Brothers. I always know I enjoy a bottle immensely when I am alone and after a few sips, I point to the bottle and say, that's a good f ing bottle, then realize I am talking to myself. It's all good. 2010. I am Claus, in the house. — 10 years ago
Agree with my east coast counterpart Sommelier from Boulad - no need to describe in detail, just an Outstanding effort for under $20. Thank you France, RIP CHARLIE — 10 years ago

An amazingly smooth Rioja, maybe the most elegant I have ever had in this $20 price range — 7 years ago
