Been in the winery biz a few years. Huge fan of Mendocino Cal-Ital wines. Also an event, food, and portrait photographer in NYC and the Hamptons.
Another stunner from Greg Graziano, from his "Enotria" label. 2013 Cortese. Grown in Mendocino benchlands. Barrel fermented. No malolactic. Sur lie aged three months. Low ph, 3.1. Beautiful wine. — 9 years ago

Nice sangiovese. Aged 24 months in french oak. Just the right touch of brett on the nose to add character, without compromising the plate. Herbaceous, with a touch of fruit and almond on the nose, too. Flavors are balanced on the palate. Mouthfeel is a touch off, but it's very enjoyable. Will try to find more of this wine. Worth 28 bucks? Not so sure; won't be buying a case, just a couple. — 9 years ago

Good wine. Great flavor. Firm tannin structure still there. Slightly higher pH than what I like. really enjoyed overall. First time trying this producer. I will look out for another one of his wines. — 9 years ago
Wonderful nose. Great flavors. Airy, light body. Midpalate is nearly perfect. Just a touch hollow. Finish is a tiny bit short. I just really enjoy this wine. Well done. I really look forward to purchasing their five year aged nebbiolo. — 10 years ago
Great wine from Greg Graziano. Scored for 21 bucks as a club member. 27 months in barrel. As usual, low pH (3.5), great acid. Not a huge, high pH, Lodi or Napa zin. Italian primitivo-styled; more medium bodied. Amazing deal at 21 bucks. Only complaint is that it is a touuuuch hot in the finish. Other than that its a rocker. Great spice, clay, blueberry/raspberry compote on the nose. — 9 years ago
Tried this along with the 08 and 2010. All were medicore. Could taste the brett in all of them. Time ain't gonna do those wines any favors. I never had Ruffino before, and was excited because they get 36 mos in barrel. Too bad they were lacking and out of balance; higher pH, overly tannic, nose and palate dominated by Brettanomyces. — 9 years ago
1993 Comte Dargelas CdP. Grenache was so forward on the aromatics. Loved it. I've never had a CdP older than 2010. Probably the fifth I've ever had. Clean. Lower pH. Flavorful. Meaty. Just a great wine. I needed this big time. Helped wake my palate and mind up after a long period of wine fatigue. — 9 years ago

I kinda laugh when people hold up Lioco and Idlewild as great examples of wine from Mendocino. Graziano Family of Wines have been doing "New California" long before the hip New-Cal wineries in Mendocino began to appear. Let's have some respect for the history there. Anyway, this 2011 Aglianico is SEAMLESS. That's the only way to describe it in sum. The nose had nice fruit compote, Clay, oak, salinity. Palate is medium+, balanced, and again, seamless. Low pH around 3.45, high TA. Aged two years in French oak. Cost: 21 dollars wine club pricing. — 9 years ago
