Gold speckled pale yellow hue with an intoxicatingly cerebral nose recalling shaved eraser and marzipan, with whiffs of white pepper, the stem of fennel and hints of thyme or garrigue. On the palate the nose melts into a wet hay ride eating bruised caramel apples that don't taste in the slightest sweet, but the peculiar smell of rubber and apple pie linger in the distance. Retronasal. A gorgeous chenin blanc with an effortless flair beyond its value. Delicately layered and nuanced. Enduring acidity. Medium long finish. — 2 years ago

100% alfrocheiro from Monte in the Algarve...transported right back to the wind swept Portuguese version of chaparral. Stewed figs, mulled strawberries, damp earth coated in cinnamon. A hint of smoke on a lingering finish. Rich, generous, and full bodied but not without freshness and vibrancy. — 2 years ago
