I would hope this was better than Bone Ash at 4times the price, I had a 2012 Scarecrow & it just never opened, oak & alcohol was all I got, so now I’m gun shy on new Big Wines,
It is very difficult to judge wine by pricing. You are better to judge wine by years and tannins., wine makers, district. Price will get you in trouble. The bone ash was better at that particular time durning the breathing of the promontory, I opened a M’etain and a Scarecrow a few weeks ago. both 12. Etain was sweet right out or the bottle and tasted good right out of the bottle and 2 hours later. The big boy took 3 1/2 hours to open and it was big!!! fruit all over with mouth feel. tasty. I paid 187 for the Scarecrow and 122 for the second label. Not bad pricing... I still have my 2009 Harlan allocations. The 09 Bonds are out of this world. 🏆
I opened a 2010 The Maiden two weeks ago. I have to say it was toast. It did not go anywhere. And we opened 3 Bryant Family Bettinas over the holidays. 500.00 for 135.00 I think ai remember paying. It was toast on the back end. All three tasted the same. End of their time,I guess, and no fruit. 2011 was soft anyway.
