The fruit slightly overbalances the wine. The tannins and acidity are present; firm and delicious, but the don't quite hold up. — 9 years ago
Paid $5.00 per btl just as point of reference. First day this wine was very big - very oaky. Second day, two inches of wine left in the btl. Wine becomes incredibly complex. A floral nose with mineral hints. The palate is still weighty with minerality, great acidity — 9 years ago

First day the wine is too rough and rustic. Very little character on nose or palate. 75 points. Day two shows a little paint thinner, cedar hints of violet on the nose. On the palate wine has silky tannins and subtle acidity. Spice box, cedar, coffee with a touch of pepper. Pleasant finish with some good length. 89 point. — 9 years ago

As a quaffed it serves a purpose perhaps even over delivering a bit. — 9 years ago
Great sipper. Enough acidity to give the wine balance. Good nose. Red fruit, cassis with a touch of minerality in the palate. Firm lush tannins. Fourth glass was much better than the first suggesting at least another year of aging. Unfortunately it didn't last until the next day so I can't gauge just how much aging. — 9 years ago
Day one the fruit is overpowering and makes the wine one dimensional, but it begins to show more dimension as it opens up with hints of spice and cedar. On day two the wine has much more balance. — 10 years ago
