Needed a fork and knife for this wine. Opened it at noon for dinner at 9:30PM. Stunning texture, with some bold dark fruit, leather and tobacco. Stellar after 11-12 years in the bottle. — 8 years ago
Well structured and full-bodied with smooth tannins a long beautiful finish. My initial comment was, "there are no words". Pairing it with some ribeyes and some perfectly grilled salmon, a vegetable kugel, and a slab of mac & cheese. The perfect meal! — 8 years ago
Gorgeous with olive oil crostini, fig jam and a triple creme, not to mention delectable smoked oysters! The wine is perfectly balanced - much more so than the consumer. :-) — 8 years ago
Opened an '03 that went through questionable storage for a period - was on the edge but still gorgeous, having mellowed with age. Big and juicy like CA Bordeaux blends are, but without the tannins. — 7 years ago
Thought this was pretty good for a precursor wine with appetizers before a dinner with a big red. Pleasant, full bodied, not too oaky — 8 years ago
Still big tannins but gorgeous nonetheless, and changed/evolved as the evening went on, with air time. Happy birthday to me! — 8 years ago
This was elegantly rich with bright fruit notes and a smooth finish. Loved it with Steelhead grilled on the smoker, wild mushroom risotto and sautéed broccolini- perfect pairing, particularly for the earthy mushroom flavor. — 7 years ago
Tannins smoothed out on this 8 yr old cab that was just gorgeous Monday night with steak, blue cheese and carmelized onion pizza and the Warriors championship! — 8 years ago
Smooth, full, rich and easy to drink. Happy 50th to my dear friend! — 8 years ago
