great nose from the start. bit much on the mouth for an hour or so. decant to hit your sweet spot. Not gonna open another for awhile yet. historically these seem better with a decade+. unlikely to wait five years though. that’d be just crazy:-) — 5 years ago
drank it all. no help. not that big a deal really as had no intention of sharing:-)
two hour decant took the ‘burn’ out. only got tastier in that Oz way until left with a husk of glass... u like this style u gonna like this bottle — 5 years ago

Quite enjoyed this bottle. Had with friends that don’t know Burgundy and their enjoyment was at least the equal of the wine. A good night and i will drink more if this! — a year ago
pop n pour. three cycles in the 90 minutes it lasted. 1) excellent nose, soft yet bright, what one hopes for with barbaresco. 2) muted out, nose faded. mouth faded, thinking it too old and ordinary:-( 3) rebirth, nose back and rhymes with stage 1. Yet, deeper this go. fruit there but fainter as second/third characteristics start to show. sadly, not a magnum so unable to report further. More study required;-) — 4 years ago
this is a very nice bottle. always looking for sadie’s and found this recently on an excursion. went back and bought the rest the next day. found to be a happy medium between new (ca) and old (burg) at this price point. give s. africa a chance as is well worth it. — 5 years ago
in goes the corkscrew and out is the cork
pour in the glass, sniff and “damn…”
pour in da Boss’s glass, sniff and double “damn… gimme more”. twenty minute battle of short pours later and it all gone:-)
seriously though,
bottle shows MUCH better than previous in November 2021. the acid is just right now. few left to consume over next few months (why wait if it perfect now (‘sides acid dropped a lot in six months)) If i get one for meself (sorry Boss) maybe i’ll update the tasting notes.
Or get yer own “damn” bottle(s) and know for yourself:-) — 3 years ago
the more lala i try the more i like then young. open and consumed over four hours this stayed fresh throughout. thinking, if i want the savory meat tinged aspects of fine syrah i’ll crack a hermitage rather than age guigal’s efforts..... maybe — 5 years ago

Headline news “Chateau-Figeac continues its 31 year streak of no bad bottles”. Really, Figeac never disappoints and always shines. Just because with family out and glad we did.
