Almost nutty. darker flavor, as name implies. The particular sour aftertaste makes this beer -- one of my favorites, actually -- maybe because it's so smooth, maybe because of the label, or perhaps because I had this originally on torch lake on the 4th of july. Would also make a superb fall beer. Thanks Charlie! — 8 years ago
Nose is very sweet, very fruity, notes of watermelon flavored candy (not watermelon). On the palette, spicy, tart fruits. Searching for more, but it's somehow not there. — 8 years ago
Crazy flavors compared to the other pinot niors of the evening. Not balanced, very funky. Interesting experience. Spicy nose, with hints of tire — 8 years ago
Flavors of cassis and raisins at first, then musky, unfinished basement. Incredibly smooth. The nose in the glass has deep notes of cigar and the woods at dusk, which reminds me of fly fishing, but above the glass it's noticably sweeter, with oatmeal and plumb, and other notes that are harder to describe. Like wandering in the dark. — 8 years ago

Charcoal, musty, spice... a bit too acidic. A definite hint of apples. Extremely dry. Good fall wine — 8 years ago
Very funky smell, hints of chocolate. But the funkiness is undeniable! Maybe earth worms. Excedingly spicy, sharp flavor. Flavors surprisingly balance the nose. — 8 years ago
DELECTUS at Dilek's -- perfect first Delectable post. Stringent, dark fruits, tobacco that softens and sweetens with age and amount drunk (every meaning applicable here). Thanks Dan! — 8 years ago

The nose is sweet, fruity, and has a hint of salami. The taste is stringent and sweet, but very well rounded — 8 years ago
