Bricking not just on rim. Nice translucent red with accents of brown. Nose is quite pungent with typical rose but also dark fruit. On palate has noticeable prune on opening, which belies the hot vintage. But good acidity and good depth with some nice grip. Quite pleasing. With a bit of time it loses the pruney notes and is getting more complex. Definitely not too old but clearly from a hot vintage. Pretty good although not best Rinaldi by a long way. — 8 years ago
Clos Rougeard

2008. Deep raspberry colour, no bricking. Very rougeard nose a bit stemmy. Powerful and intense on the palate, very young still, can wait a while. Fine chalky tannins which melt with a couple hours of air. Long finish. This wine needs more time before blossoming but it is beautiful already. Wait. — 8 years ago
