A very nice chance buy from Lidl Full bodied strong fruity nose and rich licorice flavours dominate. Delicious with lamb. I would drink with cheese, pasta or just by itself. I hope I can get some more. — 7 years ago

I think this was a budget supermarket buy, sub £5, but it's rich full bodied fruity flavours are more reminiscent of MUCH more expensive wines. We drank it with pheasant in a rich fruity sauce- perfect. :-). — 8 years ago

Bought because it was cheap and an amusing label but not really for me. Nice aroma fairly smooth but too light for me, or perhaps just with the wrong meal (lamb!) or maybe this is one of those reds to be quaffed chilled, perish the thought;-) — 8 years ago

What a nice surprise to find in my 'collection' annoyingly I don't recall from where it came or what I paid for it. It is a very acceptable Chianti, which was rarely said (outside of Italy)!30 years ago. Robust, mature colour with a complex mix of fruit, and spice that lingers. Ideal with steak or with a strong pasta dish. I don't normally buy Chianti but I would this one, if I could remember where... — 8 years ago

This was a bargain buy from a discount supermarket but comparing tonight against a Cockburn special reserve this has a much broader smooth flavour of ripe berries. Ideal with cheese but would potentially accompany rich desserts. Perhaps lay a bottle away for Christmas pud — 8 years ago
