Sweet on the nose, Muscat and hints of cherry, with a cool limestone/mineral balance, and a dry finish. — 9 years ago
Complete accident, total blessing. I was looking for a super Tuscan without understanding how big of a region that term encompasses, and my wine guy suggested that if I want to learn about the wines of Tuscany and bow some Sangiovese blends are classified as "super Tuscan", I should start by educating myself on the pure sangiovese chinatis. This is one of the best Chiantis ever produced, the guy who produces it is a strict stickler for tradition, which isn't completely possible as some of the grapes in the original Chianti recipes have died out, but this is so enjoyable. Charcoal and chocolate on the nose, smooth and rich currant on the tongue, slightly dry finish. Love it. Perfect with a mild Tuscan bean stew. — 9 years ago
