(A solera of Charles Heintz Vineyard Chardonnay, vintages 2008-2012, released 2015)
Understandably misunderstood. This wine—like other oxidized wines such as Vin Jaune, Madeira and Sherry—deserves a day or two in the decanter to really shine.
Notes of caramelized pineapple, finger lime and hazelnut are braced by a minerality that is out of this world. Probably want to sit on this for a few years.
Glad I stocked up when this was released; this is only going to get better, putting on weight and fleshing out even further. — 9 years ago
Really enjoyable. Quite young, but already can see the weighty nature it is destined for. Great value juice — 9 years ago
Fantastic, Burgundian-styled Beaujolais. Floral, flinty and a very clean fruit profile make this a joy. — 8 years ago
2007 vintage — Loads of blackberry and starting to turn more to secondary flavors with a long espresso finish. A lovely surprise. — 8 years ago
Fantastic fruit balanced by waves of minerality and acidity. Lush texture, brioche on the finish along with more of that lovely minerality. A winner — 9 years ago
Remarkably clean for Ganevat. Probably best on day 2 in the fridge, but still nice and precise on day 3. Golden and green apple with a bit of richness on the mid palate. Definitely made to go with food! — 8 years ago

Incredible. #10 — 9 years ago
Lovely despite a poor showing when opened. Started showing better with air, classic, want a few cases... — 9 years ago

A perfect match to salmon w/ orange and ginger glaze, roasted parsnips, and cabbage/cashew braised in curry spice. Only a touch of VA that blew off quickly.
Lovely wine! — 8 years ago
