A great food wine this went well with bee cannelloni in tomato sauce. Still fruit and tannins but also a lovely chocolatey finish and enough acidity to face the tomato sauce. Not a classic but great value. — 9 years ago

A glorious example of mature Sauternes- deep honeyed bouquet with pollen notes - these come through on the palate too, ply that classic burnt match undertow on a long finish. Like drinking nectar. — 9 years ago

Still youthful - needs time to open, but vibrancy and balance clear from opening. The intensity marks it out from other 99 claret I've had. A great new year treat. — 9 years ago
