These wines make me happy the same way that “fruit by the foot” fruit snacks made me happy as a kid. They show bright red fruit that excites the palate and the mouthwatering textures carry waves of bright acidity that allow a multitude of flavors to burst, over and over again. Soft but complex, fruit focused but controlled and oh so delicious. — 7 years ago
Really nice and mellow wine that showed some pretty rich yet bright red fruit but transitioned into a softer and pleasantly acidic finish. Not a show stopper, but a wonderfully made wine that was perfect for the ambiance. I'd recommend letting this on age for about 6 years. — 7 years ago
Showed fairly well but not as nuanced as I had hoped or experienced with other vintages. — 8 years ago
Definitely popped this way too young but there was no disappointment on our end. A really nice vintage for this wine and the tannins let us know that we were premature by about 8 years. Still supple and true to form, the red fruits and vanilla are backed by dried spice box and a finish that goes on and on. — 7 years ago
Happy to find this wine when I did. Showing tons of “other than fruit” characteristics on the nose, this wine smells older than it is. Little bit of bret, but the good kind! Dark black fruit and olive tapenade waft out of the glass while blackberry seed, tobacco and black cherry leaf the way on the palate. The body is full in the middle but lean on the edges because of the bright acidity which lifts the wine throughout. Drink now through 7-13 years! — 7 years ago
Always a well made wine and I personally have to be in the right mindset to thoroughly enjoy this unoaked Russian River Chard. Reminiscent on an intentionally still Blanc de Blanc, the palate and mouthfeel deliver a compelling story where the Apple and bracing acidity are the stars of the show. — 7 years ago
Big, black , dark fruits dominate the palate while sophisticated undertones of graphite, gamey meats and baking spices are noticeable by not as well represented as the fruit. The wine carries power and flavor but the mouthfeel is almost subdued comparably. I nice wine for the steak dinner and a pleasant surprise as our palates had the pleasure of a crescendo, landing in bold Cabernet after laps with cocktails and bubbles. — 7 years ago
