This is by far my favorite Riesling. Everything about it was perfect. Fruity. Sweet. Oh my god the honey. I really want to find this again. From April 7, 2014 — 10 years ago
This is a really good garnacha/temp/cariñena/cab blend. It's a Gran Reserva, which theoretically means it's a "superior" wine. If I were blind tasting, I wouldn't peg this as a GR or as a 2002. The color is still very dark. The spiciness that is typical of Spanish garnacha and temps is a little light at first but heavy in the aftertaste. I would call the flavors black cherry and blackberries. Super smooth. I picked this up for $7 at Publix Sabor, and I'm probably going to grab a few more soon! — 10 years ago
Had this a few days ago. I was impressed. It's a different feel from French and American Merlot but I'm not sure how to describe it. It was good. Plus the bottle was pretty. — 9 years ago
I bought this because it was $6 and my life is in shambles. I don't love it. It's extremely sweet (which is not necessarily a bad thing), and it has some strange flavors that I guess are supposed to be citrus or fruits? It would probably be better if I took two seconds to mix it with some real fruit. But as it is, it tastes like a Clorox wipe used to clean up a wine spill. — 9 years ago
It's good. It's pretty sweet. It tastes kind of chocolatey but not as much as the bottle let on. The alcohol content is high but the sweetness kind of masks it. Probably won't buy again but I would try other wines from this brand. — 10 years ago
Gurl. This is a Reisling with strawberries added and it is so good. It's so sweet. It tastes like wine at first, but the aftertaste is very strawberry. I'm here for it. — 9 years ago
This is sweet and super peachy. Is there a tiny bit of honey flavor? Maybe but that could he wishful thinking. Very smooth. Sort of reminds me of a pinot grigio but in a good way. I'm loving this wine and will certainly buy again if I see it. — 9 years ago
Honestly impressive for a $5 Riesling. I really like sweet Rieslings, and this is the perfect sweetness. It is pretty fruity, certainly has a peachy type of taste. Am I tasting just a tiny bit of honey?? That's the flavor I really like out of these guys. Would absolutely buy again. — 10 years ago
This is excellent, especially for a really cheap wine. It has a hallmark Spain flavor but feels a little more low key. Very smooth garnacha. Taste is pretty grapey, maybe some other dark red fruit (cherries?). It's a pretty quick flavor too, not too much lingering. Color is really pretty, light violet, almost red. Will definitely buy this again! — 10 years ago

This is actually from Valle Central, Chile (not California). I don't usually do Pinot Noir but I picked this up because 1. The label is pretty. 2. I like South American wines. 3. I love the name Smoking Loon. 4. It was $6 at Publix and that's about my wine budget. 5. What the heck I'll give Pinot another shot. The bottle says this medium body but it's fuller (heavier?) than any other Pinot I've had. There is something distinctively South American about it - it has that spicy undertone. I would describe the flavor as currant but I've also never had a currant so take that for what it's worth. Overall I'm very impressed and would buy again. — 9 years ago
