Very good dry wine with pronounced tannins, high alcohol that's not overwhelming, and a balance of blackberry and red berry fruit flavors (raspberry, black cherry, strawberry) along with cinnamon, cloves, and discernible mutton and leather notes. Good medium dry, red berry (strawberry preserves, raspberries, cherries) and sweet spice forward wine (clove, cinnamon, nutmeg) with pronounced intensity, light acidity, whose alcohol balances its tannins. This is a thought provoking, mid-priced, good wine with interesting flavors. It is a fuller bodied white with the potential to bottle age an additional 3-5 years. This is a balanced wine with flavors of juicy pomelo, dried Meyer lemon rind, almonds, dried Turkish apricots, and herbs de Provence. Has notes of wet stone on the nose. It has a medium to medium + finish with salinity and slight bitterness in the finish. Its high acidity balances the 12.5% alcohol. Would drink again with food. — 7 years ago
