Irresistible. Such a lucid expression of gamay. Eat with mushrooms and beef tartare and be happy you’re alive. — 5 years ago
Dark berries, violets, smoke, and minerals. A wine that draws deep but maintains vivacity. Focused and persistent, the palate mimics the nose, with lingering pepper and granite notes on the finish. Harmonious, with many years ahead of it. This is fine Syrah. — 5 years ago

Refreshing but cerebral. Citrus fruits and stones. Very savoury. It won’t stay with you, but your glass will be empty before you know it. — 5 years ago
Holding up remarkably well for its age. What stands out about the wine is how well the tannins have kept up with the fruit. They’re firm but well articulated, melting away, leaving a sandy-like texture around the palate. The fruit, plums and cherries, offers glimpses into the wine’s past. They’re still there, but soft and unassuming. Tertiary and complex. — 5 years ago
Unbelievably fragrant nose. Pure red berries, licks of spice and gravel. This still feels youthful, but the tannins have almost completely fallen away. Great intensity of fruit, ample drive. Pulsating minerality. Despite its power and alcohol, it has a lovely elegance and shows no signs of heat. A real treat to try. — 5 years ago
Really great perfume, like flowers dragged through earth, fresh berries and beef stock. Open and elegant off the bat. The fruit is deep and savoury. Paired with lamb and my word did they get along. Tannins are assertive but so fine. Really great stuff by Gonon. — 5 years ago
Very reticent nose. Majestic tannins. Layer upon layer of fruit, spice, meat, minerals. Dense and demanding. Pure and profound. A unicorn that deserves its wings. — 5 years ago

This epitomizes Côte Rôtie on the nose. Kaleidoscopic array of aromas, earthy and meaty, salty and spicy, with a core of lifted fruit and florals. Really fantastic stuff. This is mid-weight on the palate with sneaky tannins, excellent concentration and persistence. A wine that is just starting to shift into more secondary flavours, but surely with a long life ahead of it. — 5 years ago
