Such a great Amarone! Nose full is very ripe and very sweet yet somewhat dried cherries, spices, chocolate, tobacco, leather and earth. Developed red wine ready to be enjoyed, but if you decide to keep it further it can get even better. Fantastic mouth with ripe sweet red berries and chocolate, longish spicy finish. Good wine from Bairrada, Portugal. Baga grape reminds me of an older brother to Cabernet Sauvignon- ripe black currant, tobacco, spices. Powerful wine. Develops beautifully in your glass. I would rate 2008&2009 vintages even higher, but still 2012 represents all what you look in a Veneto’s Corvina- ripe dark cherries, overripe plum, tobacco, chocolate. Thick body, nice acidity. Longish chocolate aftertaste. — 7 years ago
