Received this bottle as a Christmas present and absolutely fell in love. The tannings are mild with great ears and also a very earthy aroma. The nose is divine and rich with apricot, beet, waffle batter, creamsicle, and soaking wet rock. The wine has a great viscosity to it, able to pour from the bottle at 12 km/s at a 55° tilt. Paired the wine with sardines and cookies -- it was a superb combo. Will be asking Santa for this again next year! — 9 years ago

Really great wine here, subtle hints of wood grass and charbroiled filet. Pairs well with honey-roasted cashews and margarita pizza. — 10 years ago

I actually haven't opened this bottle yet, so it's hard to comment on the taste. Nose is mild to strong of glass, glue, and dyed paper. Viscosity is high with tannins and sediment visible through the bottle. I've been aging this one for a little over two days now, and I think it's about ready. Great wine! — 9 years ago

Finally decided to pull this one out of the cellar after 6 years of aging, and oh my, what great timing. Upon removing the cork, I was greeted by a nose potent with green apple, burnt grilled cheese sandwich, dehydrated strawberry, brown brown, and a soft layer of nursing home. The viscosity was low, with little to no resistance in the glass (a sign of a very very good wine). The wine finished smoothly and had a subtle aftertaste of grilled pineapple and artichoke hearts. Overall, I think this wine could have benefitted from more aging to bring out more of the oak flavor that is common to Sangria, but nonetheless, was still positively excellent. — 10 years ago

I genuinely disliked this wine, and I can't seem to pinpoint what it was that really turned me off. The palate is very vapid, although it does have some interesting hints of skewered boar and slightly acidic blackberry. I dipped my pinky in the wine and rubbed it on my nostrils, which helped me identify the strong notes of sycamore and aged Wisconsin cheddar. Merlot generally is supposed to taste like fruits and such but this one just didn't offer much. — 9 years ago

Subtle hints of charred bluefin tuna belly and melted 75% cacao fondue. Nose is mild with berry scents and a smokey salt. Finishes well, strong tastes of ground asparagus and liquified paper. Pairs well with imitation crab meat and exotic string cheeses. — 10 years ago
