Pale-straw in colour, this is a bright, breezy wine that has notes of citrus, honeydew, and apricot with a rich mouthfeel that leaves a fleeting impression of Chardonnay that doesn’t linger (but does add a note of complexity). Don’t punish it with something heavy; it is great with white fish (or a sunset, recliner, and a deck...). // Di un giallo pagliorino, questo è un vino luminoso e che ha note di agrumi, melone melata, e albicocca con una bocca ricca che lascia una breve impressione di Chardonnay che non indugia (ma aggiunge una nota di complessità). I had no expectations going in for this one— I had never heard of the grower or the varietal (Schioppettino - “little rifle”) before. Spicy pepper and blackberry on the nose, it manages to maintain both of those whilst adding tannins and acids for a balanced, yet very interesting wine. It’s all the more interesting for being a part of the “Vini Veri” movement: no pesticides or GMOs, or alterations to fermentation. Well worth a try. — 7 years ago

Light on the nose (prunes, minerality) with a big mouthfeel from strong tannins and rich cherry notes. Definitely needs an hour or so open before you drink it but is delightful with food that matches its strength. // Naso leggero (prugne, mineralità) con una grande sensazione in bocca. Tannini forti e note ricche di ciliegia. Deve essere aperto un'ora prima di berlo! Questo vino merita una cena abbastanza grande da contrastarlo. — 7 years ago

Delicious, long tannins and red fruit, minerality and pepper. The spice quotient is much more delicate than one can reasonably expect from such a robust wine. Paired excellently with a bone-in ribeye steak. // Tannini deliziosi lunghi e frutti rossi robusti, con mineralità e odore di pepe. La quantità di spezie è molto più delicata di quanto dovresti aspettarti da un vino così robusto. Andrebbe bene con una bistecca alla fiorentina. — 7 years ago
