Round, soft, deep, floral gorgeous! Did a dance in the glass as it warmed up, just lovely! — 9 years ago
The 2001 "Hommage" had extraordinary fruit on the nose - pure ripe red raspberry - and the palate was completely different, all rocks and black fruit, almost like Zin-like in the taste of bramble. Took about an hour for the two to resolve, the nose taking on darker fruit and game. Come to know the dominant grape is Mourvèdre. — 9 years ago
The Blagny had the sort of integrated Burgundian nose that defies description - sweet wild strawberry, clove, sweat, mint - but defining the parts doesn't do it justice. — 9 years ago
What a pleasure to smell and taste classic Bordeaux from a great vintage - blackcurrant, forest floor, cedar, balanced and complete. Accessible too, yay! — 9 years ago

Chevalier des Andes 2003 Mendoza - just in case you wondered if these age nicely, yes! The nose was gorgeous, dried flowers, pure red raspberry fruit mid-palate, surprising amount of rockiness. Firm acidity, gentle tannins, big but defined and layered, the finish kept swelling. Cab & Malbec — 9 years ago
