Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir
Rating is for the 2023 vintage bought at TJ’s. A Pinot from Santa Lucia Highlands (Monterey County) tends to be in the style of a French Burgundy, so it is not very fruit forward. Don’t expect all sorts of fruit flavors. Instead expect a well balanced medium body wine that will compliment your meal. I’ve always been found of SLH Pinots. Although the Upper Eden is not an all time favorite, it was very enjoyable and a good price at around $15. — 9 months ago

Margaux Red Bordeaux Blend 2021
An elegant, well structured Margaux for under $19. Could use a bit more structure and tannins, but very enjoyable. Not as impressive as the Baron von Taste Margaux TJs used to stock (which I miss very much), but I’ve spent a lot more on Margaux elsewhere and have been less impressed compared to the La Roche. So definitely recommend this, but still go to bed every night praying for the Baron de Taste to come back. 🙃 — a year ago
