Stony and lemon aroma, stewed apple, oil and citrus on the palate. Very faint lingering finish but it’s an older wine so I’m not too surprised. Shared at a beautiful dinner with the parents. — 5 years ago

The post says Chardonnay, but this is definitely Pinot Noir. Not sure why I can’t find it. In any case, pale ruby colour, and wonderful cherry and plum notes on the nose. Cherry and a touch of spice on the palate, minimal tannin. A great wine to celebrate a final moving-in! — 6 years ago

This was a gift to us from our wedding and wow what a gift. Toasty yeast and stewed apples up front, sweeter palate with apples and a nuttiness from the yeast. Fairly short finish and smoother mousse, likely due to its age. Happy Lunar New Year! Xīn nián kuài lè! — 5 years ago

What a beut brut! Wonderful crisp pear notes up front and a light yeasty finish, not too toasted. A touch sweeter as well, confirmed by the winemaker’s notes. Had this with my partner’s family making dumplings for the holidays, and it was just lovely. — 5 years ago

Solid Baco Noir for its youth. Not a lot of tannin to speak of here but a healthy amount of blackberry, plum, and a touch of leather. Paired great with a steak and the company :). — 6 years ago

When I say Niagara can do reds in a good year, this is the kind of thing I’m talking about. The nose is cherry and subtle chocolate and leather, while the palate follows with a surprisingly bright red fruit flavour and a small bit of stewed apples in tow. The finish lingers with that chocolate note and great tannin. What a wonderful bottle. What a treat. — 5 years ago

Elly and I are tasting this for some friends, and WOW this is great. The nose is leathered and smoky, with hints of stewed fruit coming through. On the palate up front, you’ll find black currant, tobacco, and a lingering blackberry note. The astringency is also great - the tannin grips you for a good bit after your sip but not in any negative way. Try this one out! — 5 years ago

Solid Chenin! Aromas of slight toast and white pear leads to a palate of honeyed pear and a touch of candied lemon peel. Coupled with a Cinq à Sept at a wonderful art gallery space (Barbara Edwards Contemporary Project Space). — 6 years ago
