What a jammy nose! The Matthews 2108 Cab has flavors of dark currents, tobacco and earth. The tannin is evident but with a little decanting will make it eminently drinkable. And it will age beautifully! — 5 years ago

I typically am not a Merlot fan but Matthews has this one dialed in. 91% Merlot and 9% Cab Franc. It has a fruit forward nose but with this smoky scent on the edge of it. The flavor profile whe. This is not your Mothers Chardonnay!! The 2017 has light notes of peach and lemon which is so inviting that when you taste it is like dessert in a glass. Slight oak on the tongue with a full mouth feel that doesn’t overwhelm you. This will impress at any dinner party! — 6 years ago
