Barbaresco Nebbiolo 1997
We had two bottles from the same case and there was a little variation
Nose: Medium intensity, a bit of that floral rose petal tar character from Nebbiolo. Second bottle more open then the first tho intrerestingly. Still some green pyrazine characters with little tietrtary aromas. Not as fragrant as I was expecting it to be though.
Palate: woo still young. Medium + body and tannin. There's a touch of oak, maybe it's cause I'm just getting over a cold but it all tasted a bit too austere for me. Finish was medium, acid medium which is good. Still has life.
Tldr: Nebbiolo still too young at 20 years. — 8 years ago

Smells like how it should, tiertary characters coming through with that leather, sous-bois mixed with a. Little cassis.
It falls apart though on the palate - far too old, no acid left or structure making it to be honest kinda gross. Somm who suggested decanting definitely made it worst.
