Balanced. Light bodied but well-structured. Lots of leather and strawberry licorice on the nose. Peppery, dry and long finish. — 10 years ago
Nose of tobacco, flavor notes of clove, cinnamon dark chocolate. Dry, sharp acidity, not too heavy/full. Complex while remaining light and refreshing/drinkable. — 10 years ago
Gabe finds it nice and smooth but uninteresting. We both find it light. A little bit of spark. I found it has a bitter aftertaste. I get a lot of black pepper - both nose and flavor. — 10 years ago
Nose of burnt matches and leather. Spicy, full, deep red fruit, extremely dry finish. Drank while watching the Oscars. — 10 years ago
Subtle, lighter than I expected in a Bordeaux. Nose of fig and black pepper. Chewy texture. Dark red fruit - cherry, currant, strawberry jam. Light, slightly over-acidic finish. Very dry. — 10 years ago
Had this one a couple of nights ago. We felt it was overly fruity, cloyingly so - almost to the point of rot. No subtlety at all. Like alcoholic fruit punch. Could make a good sangria base. — 10 years ago
2013. Enjoyed with perfectly grilled Branzino and slightly soggy Brussels sprouts from Kefi. Light, dry (especially for Chardonnay). Slight minerality. Butter on the finish. I know this is a "classic" but I'm underwhelmed. Overall it's perfectly fine - refreshingly drinkable - but nothing special except the name. — 10 years ago
Had a glass last night at Bustan; bought a bottle tonight. Sweet red fruit, black pepper, then dry on the finish. Strong anise once it opens up. Gabe gets blackberry notes. — 10 years ago
Tried a week ago and really disliked. — 10 years ago

Drank last night. Tasted off. A little funky/vinegary. At first I thought it might have a rubbery scent/flavor, but just decided it probably turned. Wasn't very excited about it to begin with. It was recommended by a shop owner in Cape Town who had criticized the wines Gabe and I liked. — 7 years ago
