A beautiful 10 year old Lynmar chard at the winery. Fantastic fruit, butter smooth on the palate, great minerals and acid and touch of smoke. Lose some Lynmar in your cellar for a decade!! — 10 years ago
A great more opulent Monte Bello! From magnum decanted six hours with coravin with the rest served not decanted. Ample fruit, gobs of balanced structure, and layers upon layers of complexity. This will last until I die but wonderful youngster! — 10 years ago
My first sabered Champagne was lovely. Had wonderful notes of apple compote and great acidity. I wonder what more the '88 Grande Dame has to offer.

Lemon high tone, copious minerality, great acidity and a hint of greeness, and a touch oaky (age should fix that). Only a Coche could kill it like this as a villages wine. — 10 years ago
A mature Mount Eden chardonnay that was unfortunately slightly cooked (auction wine...) Gorgeous nose of hazelnut, vanilla, roasted almonds but a bit over oxidized on the palate. However, the fruit and acid are still kicking. I'll keep looking for better stored versions from the 80s. — 10 years ago
Great nose of spice but some oxidation on this. Bottle. On the palate monster spiciness with dark intense fruit. Tannin to go another decade. Ample dark and blue fruit. A bit austere but so lovely. — 10 years ago
Beautiful red fruit, spice, garrigue. A beautiful old school CNDP! — 10 years ago
A beautiful Hanzell with some age. Toast, nuts carmel, on the nose and carmel, hazelnut and pear on the palate. This is why you lose great California chard in your cellar. — 10 years ago
A beautiful Angelus. Nice dark fruit, cedar box, mint, and earth. So beautiful!!!! — 10 years ago
Robert Bergstrom
A lovely DRC in the twilight of its drinking years. Upon opening we thought it would fall into the bitter tobacco and soy sauce category but it fell off the knife edge the other way and gave lovely rhubarb, tea notes and sweet tobacco. What a great experience. — 10 years ago
