I’d put this up against any Bordeaux blend in the US at that price range. Balanced acidity and good fruit. Definitely the earthier tones of a right bank Bordeaux, but not as sweet — 5 years ago

Kicked a lot of sediment for an 8 year old, supposedly well made wine. Overall taste was average, could have been a lot more — 5 years ago

First time with a wine this old, was really fun. Definitely more earthy and nutty flavors and smells, almost like caramelized almonds — 5 years ago
Not a huge Syrah drinker but this is a good one — 5 years ago

Average performer from a less than stellar vintage. Still tannic but not much of the big fruit Napa is known for. Got it from underground cellar and they said it was worth $100. I didn’t pay near that much and wouldn’t pay over $30 for it again. — 5 years ago
Decanted for an hour, still a big powerful wine. Lots of oak/vanilla on the nose, dark fruits on the back end. Could still cellar for another decade. — 5 years ago
