2007 wanted to try this wine with a little age on it. Really nice! Solid structure great balance beautiful spicey plum and berry flavors that continue to open up over time. — 9 years ago
Really love their new wines. This one is tasty already but can tell it will go years. To me it compares nicely with the Phelps Freestone PN. Nice tasting experience at the winery. — 8 years ago
WTF? Over ripe plum, road tar (why would you wanna eat road tar) and heavy menthol or Vicks vapo rub. Year 2002 so the fresh fruit I love in the Riva is long gone. Drank 5/1/16 sad, I love Johns wines but this is too expensive to take a shot at again if this is the intended flavor profile? Not corked, had velvety tannins and still good acid, jut not a pleasing flavor to me. — 9 years ago
This is the Thackrey wine that renewed my interest in wine. Never dull, no bottle ever seeming the same, from blow your mind interesting to delicate supple fruit goodness. Sean goes for it that's for Sure! Always great structure and balance. If you get the chance to try this don't pass it up. Rating a blend of years I've had now 2003, 2005, 2008, 2012 — 9 years ago
2013 One dimensional jam with almost no nose of interest and no pallet depth. Seems fake, not a $50 wine, stick with their Petit Petit if you want a much more enjoyable experience and only $15 — 8 years ago
Medium to light body, Ruby garnet, very well balanced with still well endowed fruit, juicy acid and dissolved tannins showing through the finish. Well made! 4/16 — 9 years ago
One of the best Paso blends. Nose of fruit and spices, interesting complex and soft. Complex structure with out being weird. Lasting joyfull finish. 2011 — 9 years ago
