The nose begins with an extinguished fire and sea air, then develops into a nutty almost hazelnut aroma. Notes include brine, sulfur, and very heavy peat and finally ending with an earthy nut flavor. Medium length with very little to no malt at all. — 10 years ago
Nose of sulfur and burnt ham. Red fruits, strawberry shortcake. — 10 years ago
I was quite surprised by this very reasonably priced Bowmore. Initial nose is of peat with traces of caramel and honey. The taste is of smoke, fresh cut lumber and citrus. The length is short-medium and has a good malty after taste. One of the most peat laden Islay scotches, however is very light and drinkable. — 10 years ago
Light, crisp with a display of fruit soaked in molasses. Light to medium body with a surprising complexity and medium draw. Easy to drink and keeps you grabbing for more. — 10 years ago
Best Islay scotch I've had! This is coming from an avid fan of Lagavulin. It has a maple bouquet with notes of a burning campfire. Taste is very complex with massive amounts of peat, burnt wood and extraordinary yet subtle sweetness. The finish is long and malty. If you like Laphroaig, you will find a new favorite scotch. Located just down the coast from the Laphroaig distillery this scotch is a best buy at around 70$ at your local liquor store. — 10 years ago

Light bodied, high acidity, floral. Delicate wine not to be paired with gamey foods or beef. Try this as an aperitif. — 9 years ago
