This was described to us as having “layers of earth” and there was an earth element but the first impression was of fresh, bright red cherry and currant with ample acidity. It opened up to deeper notes of dark cherry and earth. Paired well with a modern version of Peking Duck with a rich reduction sauce spiked with sherry vinegar. I think a few years more in the bottle will develop more complexity. — 6 years ago

Ripe 2010, just sumptuous. Layer of blackberry, plum, pencil lead, prune . No flaws.

A beautiful Santa Maria Pinot from talented winemaker Dieter Cronje. More fruit forward and powerful than the adjacent Sta Rita hills cousins. Smooth, silky, with a long finish, balanced acidity and a touch of smoke on the nose.

Clear, pale gold with clean pronounced aromas if jasmine, citrus and lychee. Crisp and refreshing with a long finish. Flavors of citrus, pear, white melon. — 7 years ago

A lovely Chardonnay with a satisfying silky mouthfeel, crisp acidity and bouquet of jasmine and white melon. Going to splash a bit into the butter/garlic/lime sauce to finish the halibut.
