A great tasting today - the 1983 is rich, savoury and seamless. Aging distills these wines into their essential core. — 10 years ago
Ruby, just showing some garnet on rim, blackberry and black currant, dried earth, shoe polish, hint of leather, but still fresh and vibrant. Holding well! — 10 years ago
Intense nose -sweet ripe yellow apples (Tarte Tatin), fresh lemon juice & zest, yellow pears, toast, brioche, hazelnuts, white chocolate ... Complex bit still fresh and lively. Terrific value. — 10 years ago
Crisp, with some richness on the palate - white flowers, lemons, yellow apple, peach and toast. Several notches above basic Cava, very good wine and fine value. — 10 years ago
Another lovely Chateau Palmer - gentle, elegant, speaking softly but saying so much. — 10 years ago

The 2012 - still just a baby -- last taste is on the third night after opening. Rich, caramel/resin under fresh yellow apple, lemon, with stones and minerals on the lingering finish. Still vibrant after all that time open. Continues to amaze and gratify. — 10 years ago
