Nice find at a new place. Lovely Malbec with a great backstory from Alberico Fine Wine. — 10 years ago
A well made version of vermentino.
Nose is aromatic lemon extract. Very fresh and clean. Very Italian. Some richness as it opens.
Palate is nicely mineral and balanced. Light gods lemon soda. Very sprightly on the palate. A hint of lemon pith. Richer as it opens. Great acidic balance.
Something in new wants to try this in 7 years for some reason.
Would be awesome with crudo.
It’s one of those wines that is an incredibly great version of what it’s supposed to be.

Legendary and ultra rare Cab/Merot blend from the now defunct vineyard of Prince Alberico Ludovisi, near Rome. Very few cases made it stateside before the final vintage in 1995. Bone dry; 12% ABV, perhaps the most brilliant robe of any Italian red I've ever tasted. Perfect balance, fresh, subtle, unmistakeably Italian. A tiny bit shy of fruit but not a flaw. A real treat and I think my most interesting wine in the last 5-7 years! Maybe it cost me $65 or so.... — 11 years ago
Super Tuscan - smooth on the front but whimsical on the back. A bit earthly but very smooth — 6 years ago

I was watching Ripley the other night and the scene where Ripley dropped off Freddie’s dead body at Via Appia Antica made me want to open this bottle.
From 8 rows of vines the produced the legendary Fiorano Rosso, this Merlot/CS blend is expectably ripe, yet also manages to be bright and savory at the same time. Medium elegant body. Luscious and silky. Long candied finish with underlying minerality.
