Last night I opened the 2015 Baer Star Merlot Stillwater Creek Vineyard Columbia Valley. A blend of 87% Merlot and 13% Cabernet Franc.
On the nose there is black cherry, cherry, blackberry, plum, violet, chocolate, allspice and black pepper.
On the palate there is cherry, black cherry, blackberry, red currant, licorice, espresso, and chocolate.
This wine is medium to full bodied with a velvety mouthfeel and medium to + acidity with medium soft fine tannins that leads into a long black fruit finish. The weekend is fat approaching again and lets look forward to having a great weekend. Please stay safe and healthy. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷 — 4 years ago
Erica Orr has quietly been making one of the great stainless steel Chardonnays in Washington State. Showing unripe pear and melon tones on the nose with shades of baking spice, the palate has great freshness and texture with a silky mouthfeel that entices. With excellent length, I would not have taken this for an unoaked Chardonnay. Enjoy this in the short-term while the wonderful brightness remains. Drink 2020-2025 — 4 years ago

Note: this is for the NO SULFITE ADDED “Vino dal Bosco” build using fruit from Baer Ridge Vyd in Rockingham Co. — deep, mouthfillingly dense, yet LOW tannin Purity Bomb. Spectacular with pizza or chili… Pure heavy-extraction bliss from a HUGE VINTAGE. STEWED cherries and Colombian coffee. 20$ at Wegmans in Cville. Spectacular artisan build :) — 4 years ago
