A personal favorite since a 2002 tasting with the owner in Macau. But how does it stack up today? First it's a blend of four varietals unknown to many, 50% Castelao, 20% Camarate, 15% Tinta Miuda, 15% Tourigo Nacional. Dense inky purple red. Floral, blackberry and raspberry notes with length in nose. Cherry and blackberry notes in mouth, moderate seed tannins in finish, moderate skin tannin astringency on finish, including blueberry and black pepper flavor notes. Very good value, better as a food wine. — 7 years ago

Vintage 2019 | made of camarate, castelão and touriga nacional. This is a friendly crowdpleaser, warm and smooth. Paired with preparations of duck. At Jus and Pepper in Utrecht. — 9 months ago
