Fabulous. This is a gripping wine with luminous golden hues and great mineral finish. Savoury, saline and masterfully balanced. — a year ago

We had this wine at Il riccio in Capri . It was mineral light and easy to drink . Delicious — 2 years ago
Vino Nobile de Montepulciano is a unique Sangiovese. We fell in love with it when we visited the region. Perhaps a bit of an acquired taste because it has a bit of a stringent dark, earthy, gravel, irony finish following vibrant dark red cherry… but it only takes a glas to get hooked. Paired surprisingly well with aged Gouda cheese proving its robust structure and present earthy umami flavors. The wine is aged in a medieval underground space below the winery with soaring high vaulted ceilings representing a cathedral highlighting wine as a spiritual experience. Also the name of winery goes back the twelve century as a recluse living in the caves, where the winery stands today, was able to read the weather from the behavior of a hedgehog, riccio in Italian. — 3 years ago

Wow, much delicious, so wine! Fruity. No dryness. Just the tiniest bit sweet. — 6 years ago

Cantine Lanzavecchia ‘Cren del Riccio’ Langhe Rosso 2023
Langhe DOC – Piedmont, Italy
Blend: 60% Barbera, 30% Dolcetto, 10% Merlot
An easygoing, fruit-forward red from the rolling hills of the Langhe, this youthful blend offers approachability and freshness in every sip. Made to drink young, it delivers low tannins, soft texture, and ripe berry character.
On the nose & palate: Notes of blackberry, plum, and a touch of light spice make this wine charming and versatile. The Dolcetto adds softness, Barbera brings brightness, and Merlot rounds it out with gentle texture.
Mouthfeel: Smooth and supple with minimal tannic grip, perfectly suited for casual sipping or light fare.
Pro tip: Chill slightly to 62–65°F and pair with soft cheeses, charcuterie, or rustic pasta dishes.
Not built for aging, enjoy it while it’s fresh and lively.
Cheers to everyday Piemonte!
