2022 vintage. Cabernet Sauvignon (65%) dominates, blended with 31% of Merlot and 4% of Petit Verdot. Malleret has a very long history, and it has been in the hands of the same family for 150 years. In this exceptional vintage, Malleret is a sheer beauty. Deep, dense dark red with purplish rim. Blackberries, cassis, flowers and very subtle oak. Seriously concentrated, with layers of black fruit and delicate spices, embedded in a firm structure of velvety tannins, balanced by fresh acidity. Long, fresh finish. Easy and enjoyable- not always how I’d describe a Bordeaux but it fits this well. Light tannins, blackberry on the nose with mild cherry, medium finish. Matched with a Mexican taco salad (as an experiment) and surprisingly good. — 7 years ago

30 years old. Of course it shows a bit its age, of course there is an orange rim in the glass, of course the nose is mostly tertiary aromas (wet forest soil, mushroom, earth, leather...) but there is still plenty of life in there! There is still fruit (strawberry) and some dried, fading rose petal scent too. The secondary are still here too with tobacco and a bit of cedar. The palate is still well designed by a wonderful acid backbone with a rather wide and long drive that lasts a very long while. Some strawberry, red forest berries, some good grip, some dusty tannins that integrated fully now and the fresh finish which lasts with notes of rose, fruit and a bit of mint. Not the best I've had but a nice tasting experience with the family. — 5 years ago
