A recent launch and definitely my kind of cab Franc (take note @Shay Aldriedge !). Chamboulé NACRE (nature aspires to continue refining everything) is a fruit-forward style of Cab Franc (no green flavors) sourced from John F'ing Caldwell's Vineyard. Magenta in the glass, the nose is all about cassis and raspberries. It's medium-full-bodied with silky sweet tannins and flavors of raspberries and strawberries. It's incredibly balanced with a moderately long finish. Very nice wine. — 7 years ago
Agréablement surpris, quand meme puissant. Couleur quasiment jaune paille. Ne fait pas la dentelle, fruits à chaire blanche, exitique, je n’ai pas trouvé l’acidité pour soutenir l’ensemble du vin. Pas certain que ca pourra durer des années à boire maintenant. — 4 years ago
Dark purple turning to black. The nose on blackberries, bell pepper and spices. In the mouth the wine has grippy dusty and drying tannins. The attack is somewhat on the sweet side with lots of fruit but transitions to leather and crushed gravel and some chocolate. Needs 5 years to get absorb the wood and mellow the tannins. A very nice US cab franc. — 5 years ago
