Modern, oaked white blend from an innovative coop near Uzes, France. 40 Viognier, 30 each Grenache blanc and Roussanne. Bought this in 2012 at the coop. Label advises to drink within 3 years. Which would have been last summer. Label advises drinking temp of 10•C, which is the exact temp of my cellar right now. So this was an easy choice to open.
On the nose: grapefruit, light pineapple, roasted sesame, light oak, orange, rosemary, toasted coconut.
Med body, nicely balanced acidity. Grapefruit juice, sesame oil palate. Pepper, grapefruit, liquorice finish. Reminded me of a SA white oaked blend, which is not a bad thing. — 9 years ago
