Thinker, not a drinker. The stewed and dried fruit showed for flash before the wine dove into its savory and leather depths. Smoke, worn leather, shiitake mushrooms, eucalyptus, fernet, hung meat. Incredible how much acid and tannin this held onto, still typical for the AOP. Curious if just the bottle. — 7 years ago
Love the backbone of earthy minerality this vintage shows. Dusty/gravelly notes throughout, framed by licorice and leathery fruit and garrigue. Always love these wines! — 5 years ago
Sommelier chose this one for a great dinner at Craft. A spicy blend that's heavy on the Grenache. Once it opens up its great. — 9 years ago
Wow! Just wow! This is a beautiful bottle of wine. Dried cranberries and strawberries, fresh Bing cherries, dried tobacco leaf, and hints of leather, wet earth, violet, and smoke. Ample acidity, but tannins have begun to mellow and integrate into the wine. — 8 years ago

Wonderful Cotes de Rhône at Cafe Fountain in Venasque, France. At the restaurant it was Euro 27 equivalent to $29.15. — 3 years ago
