All bright flowers and red fruit. Ethereal and lovely. — 5 years ago
How do you not love these Alto Adige wines? Light garnet in the glass with thin edges and a soft violet undertone. And what to say about this nose? Gorgeous red fruits, strawberry lemonade, fresh herbs, and a definite floral influence. I know and love Lagrein but I’m a relative newcomer to Schiava. Striking a nice balance between rustic earthiness and wonderfully bright fruit, this charms with simplicity but there’s a lot more to it beneath the surface. Deliciously feminine and supremely dry, the luscious mouthfeel leads to a textured palate. Cranberry, ripe cherry, and wild strawberry mingle with allspice and underbrush. If you can’t tell, I love this wine. And so should you. — 5 years ago

Meaty, toasty, leather and coffee. Quite masculine and slightly stubborn. Still, there’s black fruit and a certain freshness that keeps me coming back for more. Lovely.
