Me: Nice smell; not too aromatic or overwhelming. Light tart on the swish in the mouth. Has a soft linger on the swallow and lasts a few seconds. I forgot to say, the bottle is badass (2023)!
Wife doesn’t like the smell. Taste is ok. Wife says don’t get again. 😆
That said, we normally drink heavy cabs; especially me so others who like semi-sweets would probably say we’re crazy.
We also didn’t pair this with anything.

Lovely drinkable wine. Dark red body. Sweet flavors of blackberry and cherry. After taste of smokey leather. Velvet mouthfeel and dense taste. Naturally sweet. — 3 years ago

Tamada – Kindzmarauli 2023 (Semi-Sweet Red)
Duruji Valley, Kakheti – Georgia 🇬🇪
Overview
Made from 100% Saperavi, this semi-sweet red is a hallmark of the Kindzmarauli PDO, located in Georgia’s Kakheti region. Naturally semi-sweet wines like this are produced by stopping fermentation early, leaving residual sugar while retaining Saperavi’s intense fruit character. (Educational note: Kindzmarauli wines are protected by Georgian appellation law, recognized internationally for their semi-sweet style.)
Aromas & Flavors
Rich and fruit-forward, with notes of ripe blackberry, black cherry, and plum jam. Hints of pomegranate, violet, and a touch of cocoa give extra layers of sweetness and depth.
Mouthfeel
Medium-bodied with velvety tannins, lush sweetness, and balancing acidity that keeps the wine from feeling heavy. Smooth and round, with a lingering, fruit-driven finish.
Food Pairings
Pairs beautifully with spicy lamb kebabs, Georgian walnut-based dishes, or blue cheeses. Also a great match for dark chocolate desserts or enjoyed on its own as a festive, easy-drinking red.
Verdict
A classic Kindzmarauli: rich, semi-sweet, and deliciously approachable. The 2023 vintage captures Saperavi’s dark fruit intensity while offering balance and charm, making it both a crowd-pleaser and a cultural staple. 🍷cheers!
