Leidenfrost Vineyard Pinot Noir 2017

Another wine from my mixed case of Finger Lakes wines. I’m really trying to get a sense of where the region is at right now in terms of quality and grape varietals. This single vineyard offering from Forge Cellars is definitely the best Pinot Noir I’ve had from the FLX region. It’s Burgundian in style with tart and tangy red fruits like raspberry and crabapple, baking spices, shale and freshly turned soil. You really get a sense of the terroir of the Liedenfrost Vineyard. The acid on this wine is medium plus, with medium body, finely grained tannins and a long elegant finish. Really beautiful wine. — 3 years ago

Dry, but not too dry. Full bodied. Had with sausage and potato stew. Excellent pairing. — 8 years ago

Reserve Finger Lakes Pinot Noir

It is the Pinot noir in rose. Perfect around a camp fire! Slightly tangy, wild strawberry on the nose, nicely balanced, nice light ending that lingers — 3 months ago
