A little sweet and fruity with a taste of the soil. Excellent red from a white region that is hit or miss with reds. — 4 years ago

I don’t know how many bottles of this I had, but this was my last one. From a remarkably wet vintage, Mark was able to use more PV to add tanning and depth of flavor to really save this build. Ironically, day two was better than day one! Flavors really unfurled as would be indicative of a highly concentrated wine. This was a real education in a bottle. — 3 months ago
Red berry, humid summer forest, hints of old leather jacket and hard candies on the nose. Plum, raspberry, tart cherry, notes of vanilla, soft puckering tannins lingering with juicy cranberry on the finish. Nice red for Virginia. Went well with pizza. — 5 years ago
Smooth. Fruit forward, spicy finish, raspberry, a little sweet, black pepper on the back — 6 years ago
Just lovely :) a little richer & sturdier than the 15 — 5 months ago
Clean, beautiful fruit from Wild Meadow (think M.Shaps)… holding up nicely after eight years… Although the acid has weighed enough to make it difficult for cream based pairing options — 8 months ago
A very earthy red! Deep red, lots of tobacco, dried herbs, wet moss. A good recommendation that I would revisit. — 5 years ago

Quite a testament to the wine making and quality of the fruit… Plenty of structure left at 12 years. Certainly this benefited from the cooler nights from the 14th vintage, preserving acid. Very pleasant fruit profile. A bit of blueberry and blackberry and some chocolate. — 3 months ago
