Esoteric Jura by old-timer Lucien Aviet. Made with an ancient strain of of Chardonnay with brilliant red stalks unique to the Jura known as Melon a Queue Rouge or red-tailed Melon, the Arboisien name for Chardonnay. Aged in large old foudres for 18 months (no sign of oak though) with regular ouillage (topped-up), it is fresh, clean, precise, with tension and crushed-stone minerality, hints of kelp, salt and iodine, somewhat reminiscent of Chablis. — 5 years ago
So fun and strange!!! Rich with interesting aromas of burnt wood and fresh oyster mushrooms. Lean acidity with salt on the finish. — 9 years ago
