The 2018 Gran Valtravieso hails from Páramo de Piñel de Arriba and was aged 12 months in French oak barrels and 12 more in concrete vats. Garnet-red in color. The aromas feature dried flowers and red fruit, such as sour cherry and plum, against a woody backdrop. The intense, structured palate is dry and rich in the mouth and leads into a liqueur-like finish. This is a powerfully ripe and flavorful Ribera red. (Joaquín Hidalgo, Vinous, November 2023)
